Kalau yang saya maksud itu yang dari Garut. Kalau dari Garut mobil biasa bisa sampai parkir tempat wisata, dan baru naik ke pondok salada.
Kalau dari rute pengalengan memang sih sebaiknya menggunakan mobil 4WD. Maklum saya selalu lewat Garut, dna belom pernah lewat Pengalengan, karena kalau lewat Pengalengan saya mungkin lebih suka jalan kaki saja daripada naik mobil 4WD. Tapi disarankan kalau naik ke puncak tegal alun-2, kalau mau turun lewat jalur yang tembus ke parkir, harus hati hati ya, karena curam banget dan licin banget kalau dimusim hujan. Jadi munkgin lebih baik turun lewat jalur pondok salada lagi saja.
