*The Third Eye of Indian Art, Aesthetics as Vedanta.* Since colonial times, the study of Indian art has been taken over by art historians. While this has helped to some extent, as historians, like archeologists, have unearthed many lost and forgotten objects. However, Indian art cannot stop there, as the ultimate resting point is an aesthetic experience. It is time to get away from colonial constructs and decolonize our minds. Prof. Harsha V. Dehejia presents an illustrated talk on the journey from art history to aesthetic experience and takes us to the inner mind where beauty resides and is experienced. He has a double doctorate, one in Medicine and the other in Ancient Indian Culture, both from Mumbai University. He is a practicing Physician and Professor of Hindu Studies at the College of the Humanities of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He has more than 30 books, 3 documentary films, and many curated exhibitions. ____ Pankaj Jain, Ph.D., पंकज जैन <https://www.flame.edu.in/faculty/pankaj-jain> HoD, Humanities and Languages Chair, The India Centre <https://indiacentre.flame.edu.in/> Professor, Philosophy & Religious Studies FLAME University https://linktr.ee/ProfPankajJain -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TheIndiaCentre" group.
