I am not sure whether this is the same nyāya as the one you cite, but Jacob’s 
“A Third Handful of Popular Maxims” on p. 87 gives a simile: 
śibikodyacchannaravat, and cites Nyāyamañjarī p. 397, line 12, and 400 line 11 
from bottom; as also Ślokavārtika p. 529, verse 73.

Anantaśakti's vṛtti on the Vātūlanāthasūtras (published in the KSTS) cites a  
śimbikā-phala-nyāya  in addition to the well-known māyūrāṇḍa-rasa-nyāya. I am 
unfamiliar with the former, and Apte's appendix E (nyāya-saṅgraha) does not 
include a citation for it. Can anyone shed any light on the maxim here labelled 
śimbikā-phala-nyāya?
