There was a three day international conference celebrating John Marshall’s announcement of Indus Civilization in Chennai from January 5 to January 7. It was sponsiored by Tamil Nadu Department of Archaeology and Roja Muthiah Research Library. After the inauguration by the Chief Minister and other politicians, the scholarly presentations started with Romila Thapar and Nayanjot Lahiri. There were panels discussing IVC and Tamil Nadu archaeology from multi-disciplinary perspectives. Gregg Jamison, Brenda Beck, K. Rajan, K. Thangaraj and many others participated.
