Over the last couple of days, user Gastronomy has documented a number of
new values for the tag indoor
<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:indoor> : indoor=stairs,
indoor=highway, indoor=railing. This is all nicely documented on the
wiki, however I haven't seen any discussion about these additions,
neither on the indoor mailing list nor on the community forum. Are you
aware of any discussion about these additions ?
The addition of indoor=stairs introduces a change to the way stairs were
mapped until now (using either indoor=room or area + stairs=yes).
The first example of indoor=highway shows a travelator in an airport
corridor, shouldn't this be mapped as indoor=corridor instead ?
Shouldn't the other examples be mapped as highway=* + location=indoor ?
I like the idea of indoor=railing, which is a nice addition to
indoor=wall and looks nicer to barrier=fence + fence=railing +
location=indoor
Anyhow, the main point is : has this been discussed and should we
contact Gastronomy about these changes ?
