(IEEE-PCM), the millenium
multimedia meeting in the Pacific-Rim, will be held in the University of Sydney, Australia. Sydney is uniquely suited for this first time-event in view of its large concentration of high tech industries, first rate academic institutions and numerous multimedia companies. One important aspect of IEEE-PCM 2000 is to incorporate exhibitions into the framework of traditional IEEE sponsored conference by providing the industry an opportunity to showcase products. The technical program will feature opening keynote addresses, invited plenary talks, tutorials, special sessions, and technical presentations of refereed papers. Papers are solicited for, but not limited to, the following topics: . Components and technologies for multimedia
systems (audio/visual/text/others)
. Mobile/wearable systems . Human-computer interface and interaction . Multimedia database and file systems . System integration . Applications (e-commerce/video-on-demand/telemedicine/distant education/others) . Standards and related issues Prospective authors are invited to submit a four
page manuscript in double
column format. The top of the first page of the paper should include a title, authors' names, affiliations, address, telephone/fax numbers, and email address if applicable. The indicated corresponding author will receive an acknowledgement of his/her submission. Electronic submission in postscript format is strongly encouraged. Electronic submission procedure will be made available at the conference web site: Camera-ready full papers of accepted manuscripts
will be published
in the conference proceedings and distributed at the conference. Proposals for special sessions and half-day
tutorial courses, and exhibitions
