GMBV 2002:
First Workshop on Generative-Model-Based Vision
2 June 2002
in conjunction with ECCV 2002
Call for Papers
The workshop aims at bringing together people working
in different areas of computer vision, who share an
interest in the generative-model approach,
i.e. building vision algorithms on the basis of
a statistical model of image generation.
Both regular papers and review papers are of interest.
Some topics of interest include:
o Linear and semi-linear models of images and textures
o Independent Component Analysis and extensions, as applied to images
o Applications of the Kalman filter and related methods to vision
o Applications of Gibbs sampling and Condensation to vision
o Statistically-based methods in shape recovery
o Active contours
o Active appearance models
o Models of background images for target detection and tracking
Further details are available at:

Deadline for paper submission: 15 February 2002
Papers selected for presentation will be published
in the workshop proceedings.
A special issue of an international journal
will be organized for extended versions of the papers.
