RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Data Mining Group
Siemens Corporate Research, Inc.

The Data Mining Group of the Imaging and Visualization Department
of Siemens Corporate Research has an opening for a Research Scientist.
In this position, you will be conducting leading-edge research in
data mining activities, involving inference/reasoning from incomplete
and structured data, automatically extracting patterns from large
amounts of numeric and symbolic data, text mining, and other related
areas.  Research topics include (but are not limited to): machine learning,
statistics, Bayesian methods, temporal reasoning & inference,
classification,
feature extraction, data mining, predictive modeling, pattern recognition,
text mining, information retrieval, time-series analysis and forecasting.

Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in CS/EE/Statistics/Applied Math or
an engineering discipline with an inter-disciplinary background in machine
learning and/or statistics, with a proven record in research, innovative
thinking, real world problem solving, and fast prototyping.  (Note: To be
considered for the position, you must have a Ph.D., or be graduating fairly
soon with a Ph.D.)

Candidates with problem solving and leadership skills, solid background in
statistics and/or machine learning, experience in programming, and the
desire
and ability to learn new technologies and apply them to challenging problems
