Aims and Scope:
The meeting will be devoted to both theoretical and practical
developments of computational mechanics methods drawing their
inspiration from nature with particular emphasis on evolutionary models
of computation such as genetic algorithms, evolutionary strategies,
classifier systems, evolutionary programming and other evolutionary
computation techniques in mechanics.
The objective of the Symposium is to provide an international forum for
facilitating the exchange of information among researchers involved in
both the theoretical and practical aspects of computational methods
based on an evolutionary nature.
The topics covered in this Symposium include:
- evolutionary methods in shape and topology optimization,
- evolutionary methods in size and material optimization,
- evolutionary methods in multicriteria optimization,
- evolutionary methods in inverse problems of engineering mechanics,
- evolutionary methods in biomechanics,
- coupling of evolutionary methods and neural networks in mechanics,
- methods of artificial intelligence in mechanics based on evolutionary
methods,
- other unconventional applications in mechanics.
Language:
The official language of the Symposium is English. No translation
service will be provided.
Location:
Cracow University of Technology, 31-155 Kraków, ul. Warszawska 24,
Poland
Call for Papers
Contributions are invited from all fields devoted to both theoretical
and practical developments of computational mechanics methods drawing
their inspiration from nature. Papers on theories, methods, algorithms,
and applications related to the subject of the Symposium are all
welcome.
Participants who wish to present a paper must submit an extended
abstract electronically directly to one of co-chairman of the Symposium
(T. Burczyński: [EMAIL PROTECTED], A. Osyczka:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]) to arrive not later than May 31, 2002. The
document file can be in pdf, ps, ASCII, text, or WORD file format.
The length of Abstracts is to be 2 pages, with double column. Abstracts
must contain the full name, affiliation, postal and e-mail addresses of
the corresponding author. Each Abstract should clearly describe the
current status of the work and should unambiguously distinguish between
original results already on hand and those expected. It should not
contain figures or extensive references.
The final selection of papers for oral or poster presentation, will be
made by the Symposium Scientific Committee. Notification of acceptance
will be sent to the corresponding authors via e-mail by June 15, 2002.
For inclusion in Proceedings of Symposium to be handed out at the
Symposium, Short Papers (two pages maximum, acceptable formats will be
on www page) must be received by May 31, 2002.
Full Papers (eight pages maximum) accepted for oral presentation during
the Symposium, will be published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, if
submitted during the Symposium in Cracow. Depending on the number of
accepted papers, some contributions may be presented in poster sessions.
They will not be included in the Proceedings published by Kluwer
Academic Publishers.
