12-16 July 2003 (Saturday-Wednesday), Chicago, Illinois
www.isgec.org/GECCO-2003
One Conference, Many Mini-Conferences
You are cordially invited to attend and submit your best work for publication at the
Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO-2003) from 12-16 July
(Saturday-Wednesday) in Chicago Illinois. GECCO will present the latest high-quality
results, selected by rigorous blind reviews from a distinguished program committee.
Topics include, but are not limited to: genetic algorithms (GA), genetic programming
(GP), evolution strategies (ES), evolutionary programming (EP), learning classifier
systems (LCS), evolvable hardware (EH), real-world applications (RWA), artificial
life, adaptive behavior, agents, and ant colony optimization (AAAA), DNA, molecular,
and quantum computing (DMQ), evolutionary robotics (ER), evolutionary scheduling and
routing (ESR), search based software engineering (SBSE), Coevolution (COEV), and
Artificial Immune Systems (AIS).
Participants will receive an archival publication of the proceedings and all tutorial
and workshop materials, along with a convenient CD of the proceedings.
Free Tutorials: GECCO will host 31 tutorials, free of charge for to participants, on
a wide range of topics, presented by top experts from around the world. See the end of
this email for a list of tutorials, or see the webpage.
Free Workshops: GECCO will host a full slate of workshops, free of charge for to
participants, on a wide variety of topics of interest to academics, students, and
users of evolutionary computation. This will include a special Graduate Student
Workshop, a workshop on Evolutionary Computation in Industry, the International
Workshop on Learning Classifier Systems, and a host of others. See the webpage for
further information (or contact Dr. Alwyn Barry, [EMAIL PROTECTED], to suggest a
workshop topic).
To Submit a Paper: papers should be submitted electronically to AAAI by 22 January.
Details on formatting and submission are available in the conference website:
www.isgec.org/GECCO-2003
About Chicago: The conference will be held in downtown Chicago, with nearby student
housing available at significantly reduced rates. The venue will be readily accessible
to both O?Hare and Midway international airports by inexpensive, safe, public
transportation, as well as shuttles and taxi services. O?Hare is a major international
airport served by many carriers, and Midway is a particularly attractive for flights
from the northeastern US. There are several Chicago attractions nearby, including
museums, music, theater, shopping, Lake Michigan, and Grant Park. There will be ready
access to dining for every budget and taste.
Additional Information: For further information, please visit
www.isgec.org/GECCO-2003. This conference is administered by the American Association
for Artificial Intelligence, 445 Burgess Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025 USA. Phone:
650-328-3123. Fax: 650-321-4457. It is operated by the International Society for
Genetic and Evolutionary Computation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation.
