Dear Lev,

As a member of the Program Committee of CIARP 2017, we would appreciate if you
could disseminate the first Call for Papers of the conference:

-------------------------------------------------------
FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
22nd IBEROAMERICAN CONGRESS ON PATTERN RECOGNITION

We are happy to welcome CIARP 2017 to Valparaíso, Chile. CIARP is the major
Iberoamerican congress for the presentation of new research in pattern
recognition. CIARP 2017 is endorsed by the IAPR, the International Association
for Pattern Recognition.

The conference consists of four days of papers and tutorials as well as social
events at Valparaíso. CIARP publishes original, high-quality papers related to
pattern recognition. CIARP 2017 welcomes contributions to any aspect of pattern
recognition theory as well as practical issues and applications. Accepted
papers will be published by Springer in its Lecture Notes in Computer Science
series.

Important dates:
Paper submission deadline: 21st May 2017 (via easychair)
Notification of acceptance: 1st August 2017
Camera-ready papers: 4th September 2017

Prospective authors are invited to contribute to the conference by
electronically submitting full papers in English of no more than 8 pages
including illustrations, tables and references. Papers have to be formatted
following LNCS style guidelines. Papers will be evaluated based on their
originality, quality and significance of theoretical and/or practical
contribution to Pattern Recognition. At least one author of each accepted paper
must register at the conference. Papers will be selected for oral presentations
or poster presentations. Only papers presented at the conference will be
included in the proceedings.

CIARP 2017 will announce two awards:

 - Best Paper Award
 - Aurora Pons-Porrata Award

Extended versions of the CIARP 2017 best paper and an invited paper by the
winner of the Aurora Pons-Porrata award will be included in a special section
of the Pattern Recognition Letters journal.

CIARP 2017 covers all aspects of Pattern Recognition. Topics of interest
include (but are not
limited to):
