Hi, we are currently investigating the use of Telegraf in our environment. For the most part it appears to be a great fit as we have a central location that aggregates data from a number of various hosts.
There's one complication, however. We have some uses cases where we need to retrieve current, runtime metric value on the hosts being monitored. Making a host go to a central server just to ask for its own data seems weird and I'd like to avoid installing something like InfluxDB locally because a) more things to manage and b) hosts do not have a need for historical data; they just need current values. Is there a built-in mechanism to do this query? I was considering adding a custom output plugin that would simply open a socket and keep latest metrics values directly in it's own data structure. Did quick search but couldn't find such a plugin, so asking here. -- Remember to include the InfluxDB version number with all issue reports --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "InfluxDB" group.
