Hello everyone,

in the past month i gathered a lot of information about InfluxDB and Telegraf.
In this time i saw that the recommended schema design in InfluxDB has changed
over the last versions.

I am wondering now if the jolokia plugin for Telegraf is still writing its
measurements in the format how it was recommended in old versions and didn't
get an update for the new schema design.

With the jolokia plugin i can gather a lot of different metrics of my JVM, like:

CPU Usage
Memory Usage
Harddrive Usage
Network traffic
and a lot more...

All these metrics would be written into one measurement, called "jolokia", with
lots of different fields and just a few tags.
Wouldn't it be better to write each of these metrics into separate
measurements, so you would only have one field.

One of the solutions, i came up with, was the measurement override ( parameter
name_override ), but that would mean, that i would have a different jolokia
configuration for each metric/measurement and all the servers in it. You will
have to configure every server again in every jolokia plugin configuration.
Good luck if your servers will change sometime.

So i came up with the idea to have a configuration parameter, in each metric
configuration, to specify into which measurement it belongs to.

Regards
