On Ubuntu 15.04+, logs go to the newfangled journald, and you can display them with: journalctl -u influxdb.service To troubleshoot the error, you can also just iterate through editing `/etc/influxdb/influxdb/conf` and running just `influxd`, which will dump messages to STDERR. InfluxDB can use the LetsEncrypt cert.pem and privkey.pem files in /etc/influxdb/influxdb.conf: https-certificate = "/etc/letsencrypt/live/yourdomain/cert.pem" https-private-key = "/etc/letsencrypt/live/yourdomain/privkey.pem" This only works now for the [http] section, not for [admin], and isn't documented yet.
