Hello Thanks for the answers.
"The admin UI is difficult to maintain because of browser compatibility issues. Use the CLI, which is much more predictable and receives regular updates." and "the CLI is generally a better user experience for most other tasks." This also suddenly means we have to give cli access to users who previously didn't have cli access. Users who aren't confident in using command line interfaces... My personal feeling is that removing the admin ui is a step back. Even if it didn't have all the possibilities of the cli, at least it presented extra options to superusers. I'll give Chronograf a try when I find some time, but my guess is that Chronograf is not able to create databases and users, grant permissions, make continuous queries or retention policies..? I can understand the issue of feature attention for query creation and visualization, but maybe it might be an idea to make the admin ui a separate GitHub project or so? That way admin ui feature requests etc wouldn't interfere with InfluxDB development.. And about the browser compatibility issues => I never had any user complaining about browser issues with the admin ui. I do have several users who are happy with the admin ui.
