Hi, For attaining higher efficiencies it is recommended on influxdb page that wal and data dir should be on different file system. I am planning to use single influxdb instance for collecting telegraf data. I have some rough idea about data dir size ( i need ~ 3 bytes per data point). But what about wal size? How much space should i allocate to wal?
for 2000 servers, with 100 metrics per server, collected once a minute and keeping it for 90days (retention period). 2000 x 100 x 60 x 24 x 90 x 3 bytes = 72.5 GBs is needed for data dir. 1) Can you help me with wal disk space requirements? 2) Is there a recommended approach for taking backups of data in AWS? I have a highly available influxdb setup(primary /secondary with relay and loadbalancers). I would like to recover the data on disk if server crashes. -- Remember to include the version number! --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "InfluxData" group.
