According to the 1.1.1 code[1] and the docs[2] , /write only accepts OPTIONS and POST. I believe you're seeing expected, correct behavior.
Are you saying that you are able to get a non-405 response when you GET /write without going through the proxy? If so, that is a bug. Please file an issue, or at least provide a script to reproduce the problem.
