I reported this as a bug (https://github.com/influxdata/influxdb/issues/7850), 
but was shoo'ed over here.

The problem is that when I run `systemctl enable influxd` on Ubuntu (16.04 
LTS), I get "Failed to execute operation: Too many levels of symbolic links".

My influx installation is standard, and the package was auto updated to v1.1.1. 
Any idea what causes this if it's not a bug, and how to fix it?
