Hello,

I have a simple question and a strange one:

1) Is anyone out there using AFS 3.6 DB servers on AIX 4.3.2? If so, what size
is the cell? Any problems? Do you trust it? Is the stability as good as
3.4a was? What hardware are you using?

2) Is anyone backing up 3.6 fileservers with the TSM (ADSM) buta client while
still relying on 3.4 DB servers? (Yes, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 mixes are actually
supported by Transarc... for now anyway) The problem for us is that we are
a bit timid about upgrading DB servers to 3.6 and we were using the TSM buta
client to backup 3.5 fileservers and below. We want to use some 3.6
fileservers for the >2GB volume finctionality but TSM has handed off buta to
Transarc and will not test the existing buta for 3.6. The only way to get
the Transarc butc with buta functionality is by going to 3.6 DB servers.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to use TSM with some sort of buta or butc
client to backup 3.6 fileservers in some manner that is even remotely
supported by IBM without upgrading the DB servers to 3.6 as well?

Thanks,
Jay
