Thanks to all those who replied to my request for a vfs_conf.c file.
Here's what I discovered. The vfs_conf.c for 3.2b and 3.2c have one
significant difference. A ZALLOC call is used in 3.2.b and a MALLOC
call is used for 3.2c. The reason I ran into this problem is the
way we distribute AFS clients to our users. When I tar the clients for
OSF, I include a vfs_conf.c file. I find that it's easier to
distribute the file rather than have people edit it. So, when one
of my users tried to build the kernel on a 3.2c system using the
vfs_conf.c I supplied, the build failed because I had tarred a 3.2b
version of vfs_conf.c. I know squat about OSF (and I'd like to keep
it that way ;-) so I didn't even realize that they were multiple
versions of 3.2 (a, b, and c) floating around, and apparently, they
are not compatible with one another.

At any rate, if someone needs vfs_conf.c for 3.2b or 3.2c, let me
know and I'll mail a copy. I have confirmed that they work for AFS 3.4a.

Thanks.
