Hi all,
we are currently using AFS 3.4a in relatively small environment
based mainly on DEC alpha AFS file server machines. Now we are working on
project which should maintain shared distributed file system (AFS)
across most powerful computing centers in our republic.
So, we are looking for any help or suggestion which could help us in our
decision about the 'right' AFS server machines HW.
At the beginning we suppose 1-3 FS at each site with about 50-100GB of
disks. Could someone give me any comparison between FS functionality on
different platforms (DEC,SGI, Sun, IBM, HP)? What amount of data seems to
be optimum per FS? What about RAID storages on AFS FS??
