Excerpts from rmbb.info-afs: 15-May-96 AMDS problem with AFS3.4a Bob [EMAIL PROTECTED] (320*)
Since upgrading our Sun AFS servers to AFS 3.4a (+patches), Sun client machines (running AFS 3.3) experience intermittent problems reading and deleting mail via AMDS. The "messages" application reports,
Error: No more processes (in flock in OpenMSDirectory)
Has anybody else seen this or know what to do about it?
The fact that the error reported by flock/fcntl/etc. is not what is expected might be an AFS problem (disparity between client and server errno assignments), but there is also an AMS problem at fault. File locking has been a problem for us with shared AMS bboards using Solaris 2.4 clients running AFS 3.4a and AUIS 6.3.4. There was a file locking patch on the info-andrew list for makeboth.c (the White Pages update utility), but there needs to be another patch for the rest of AUIS to deal properly with the "new" return and errno values in Solaris 2.x.
