We have two labs (around 100 machines) that are the low end SGI indigo
machines (R3000, 24 megabytes of ram, 424 mb internal system disks),
running IRIX 5.3
Anyone run AFS using these as clients? And if so, how is
the performance? We currently run NFS on them and performance is
abysmal. We also have a similar number of machines at the R4000 and
above level, but our primary concern is running AFS on the smaller
clients. We also have 2 Challenge XL's (20 processor), 5 Onxy's,
multiple power challenge M's and several Challenge S's (which will be
the main servers).
