Transarc has received reports of sun4x_55 translator machine panics
from a handful of customers. It was found that the problem only
exists when a sun4x_55 NFS client tries to mount /afs from another
sun4x_55 machine acting as an AFS/NFS translator machine. The
translator machine would panic and reboot.
AFS development is currently working to resolve this problem.
For the translator machine to panic, both the translator and the
machine mounting /afs must be of type sun4m_55 (Solaris 2.5). The
problem can be avoided by using any other OS or system type for either
machine.
