If you are running Linux and were waiting for AFS to run the Linux 2.0
kernel, never fear! I have just released Linux-AFS 2.0 through the
Transarc AFS Cell.

Linux-AFS 2.0 is an ELF distribution, which means you don't need a.out
compatibility to run it. It requires Linux 2.0.1 or higher to run.
It will not work with Linux 2.0.0; it was tested with Linux 2.0.4. It
is currently available for Linux/i386 only (anyone have a 2.0.4
Linux/axp or Linux/sparc I can borrow? ;)

To get Linux-AFS 2.0, you should contact your AFS Site Contact. Only
an authorized AFS Site Contact can obtain Linux-AFS for you. If you
don't know who your site contact is, contact your system
administrator(s) who should know whom to ask. Do NOT contact Transarc
yourself if you are not a site contact.

Site Contacts should perform the following operations (international
Transarc Customers may need to contact Transarc before following this
procedure):
        klog -c transarc.com
        cd /afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/bin/linux.client
        more MIT_COPYRIGHT
        more README
        more Notes-2.0.4
        cp -p * <local site>

You should read the new README file as well as the Notes files for the
Linux-AFS distribution before installing it on your machine.

Major visible changes:
        * the distribution is ELF, rather than a.out
        * the @sys value changed to i386_linux2

If you have any questions, please ask on [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you
are not subscribed to linux-afs, please send mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] to get added. If you have a kernel oops,
please use ksymoops and send the output to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Enjoy!
