For users with AFS $HOMEs you put an "X" in the encrypted password field
and have AFS aware login. These users can then use their AFS password and
forget about their NIS password. They have to get used to "kpasswd".

One lesson I learned with NIS: don't attempt to distribute /etc/group.
It is much more efficient and reliable to have a local copy.

I wonder why we can't have an AFS equivalent of dceunixd?
