I've noticed that running AFS 3.4a on Sparc 5s (2.5 and 2.5.1) that bulk
file copies to/from AFS make the client very unhappy. We use Sparc 5s as
desktop machines, and bulk file copies cause the machine to swap heavily
and in general become sluggish. I haven't noticed this problem on bigger
machines like 20s and Ultras.
Is there Cache Manager tuning that can help with this, or other ways to
make this better?
