Transarc is pleased to announce that AFS 3.4a for the following
platforms is currently GA:
HPUX 10.20 SP/MP
AIX 4.2 SP/MP
For those customers already licensed for AIX 4.X and HPUX 10.X, these
AFS 3.4a binaries are available immediately via the AFS network or
within 7-10 working days for tape shipment. If you are not currently
licensed for AIX 4.X and HPUX 10.X and wish to purchase the licensing
required for these new systypes, please contact your AFS Sales
Representative.
For AFS network customers with the required licensing, the binaries
can be accessed via the following location in the AFS product tree:
/afs/transarc.com/product/afs/3.4a.ports/nov96/<systype>
Network customers should be sure to pick up the README file associated
with this release. The README file can be accessed via the following
location in the AFS product tree:
/afs/transarc.com/product/afs/3.4a.ports/nov96/README
The README provides pointers to documentation specific to the
installation of AFS 3.4a on HPUX 10.20 and AIX 4.2.
To request a tape shipment, contact your AFS Sales Representative or
AFS Product Support. When ordering media, remember to include the
full system type (often, the operating system alone is not sufficient)
and tape media you require (8mm, 4mm, or ST150).
