Yes, it will reduce the cache size. The extent depends on how many chunks
you're actually using, which is displayed by afsd when it starts ("n
non-empty chunks discovered."). You can adjust the chunk size "-chunk 18" to
compensate -- which would give you a maximum cache size of 2800*2^18 or
~700MB. I don't think that you really need a 700 MB cache anyway, and
seeing that you have 70000 Vfiles has pretty much convinced me that this is
a major part of your performance problems.
I think that there was something in an old issue of "Cache Update" on this
topic, perhaps the TA support folks can point you at a hints file for CM tuning.
