Quite often during the normal operation we find temp files that have been
created in the home directory such as :

        -rw-r--r-- 1 noehl staff 0 Mar 23
09:14 .__afs2B65
        -rw-r--r-- 1 noehl staff 29696 Mar 23
09:14 .__afs5196
        -rw-r--r-- 1 noehl staff 0 Mar 23
09:14 .__afsB492

more often than not these files appear to be cleaned up by the system without
intervention yet it seems that
in many cases these files remain undeleted and cause a great deal of clutter.
Is there something we can
do to increase the level of cleanup and avoid the pile up of these files?
