My first reaction is to suggest that you spread your volumes across more
fileservers. fileserver does take a fair amount of time to ensure that
the state of the volumes is good, and I believe it compares it local
volume headers with the vldb (is this correct?). Given the large number
of volumes, I'm not surprised at the long startup time.
