Hi, AFS users out there!
I've got a very strange error message when I tried to remove a
directory. The error message is like this;
$ rmdir posdata
rmdir: directory "posdata": Object is remote
The directory have nothing in it. This is my third time to see
the same messages since I started using 3 years ago.
Whenever I've got this situation, The only place I could remove
the directory was the file server machine which houses the volume. How
strange! I couldn't delete the file/directory from any other AFS client
machines.
Also when this kind of situation happens, the directory becomes
unstable. I've lost some of my files in this situations. Files were
disappeared. :(
Is there anybody out there experienced the same problem to me?
