Is there a good reason why /afs in not mode 555? Sendmail 8.9 is quite unhappy trying to work out of /afs/XXX as it appears to be a world and group writeable directory. I assume it is historical, and done before programs started looked at file permissions. I know that it is an effective 555 directory. Would anything break if this was "fixed" in an upcomming release?
