AFS - a Perl extension module for the AFS file system

The AFS module is a dynamically loadable (where available) extension to Perl 5.
It gives the AFS user and administrator access to many of the AFS programming
APIs, allowing you to make these calls directly from Perl, rather then
processing the output of a command.
This module was developed by Roland Schemers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> in
1994 under the name `AFSperl'. The actual version is

As it turned out, Roland Schemers is not maintaining this module any more.
Since I believe that this module is a very useful perl extension, I was very
unhappy that there was nobody left to take care of it. After intensive
discussions with Andreas Koenig, one of the CPAN maintainers, I have
volunteered to maintain this module, originally created by Roland Schemers.
For the moment, I will collect all available update information on the old
`AFSperl' module merely and patch it to create an actual version.
The next step would be to clean up the code, the docs, and the examples,
and also to get some missing/broken commands working (e.g. KAS->setfields).
At a later stage, the missing interfaces to the vos/bos commands should be
implemented.
For all the steps mentioned above, volunteers are very welcome :-)
This module will be uploaded to CPAN in the near future.
