We use SSA disks with our AFS fileservers. The disks are in a
RAID-5 array, with a hot spare configured. Recently we have had
two disk failures. In each case, the failed disk was kicked out of the
array, the hot spare was brought in, the array rebuilt itself
automatically and we changed the bad disk at our leisure. AFS did
not even notice.

The hardware is SP2 nodes with 7133 external SSA and SSA
Enhanced RAID adapters.
