www-archive.stanford.edu turns out to have been a SunOS machine and it was
retired in January. The archives are archived and it's on somebody's list
to move them over to another machine, but there are more pressing
priorities, and we've lost a lot of people recently to startups, so it'll
probably take a while.

I'd be happy to put the archives up somewhere where they could pull them
