AFS 3.5 pl 2 / Solaris 7 (problem existed with 3.4a / Solaris 2.5.1 as well). Don't know about other OSes as I have not tried to reproduce the problem (difficult). Seems that the ka_UserAuthenticate() call in the reauth program never returns under certain circumstances. Specifically, if the call is made when one of our AFS database servers is not available, it never returns, never recovers when the cell is back to normal, nothing. User loses tokens, loses long-running job results, complains, etc etc. This seems broken. It makes reauth significantly broken. Does anyone have a more modern or robust version of reauth sitting around? Suggestions? Comments?
