Files are getting written to directories that don't have the correct owner
name. For instance, someone else has become the owner of many files that he
did not create. Owner names are not getting assigned properly. Is there a
history of permissions and ownership problems? Here is the text from our
internal problem management system:

I have seen problems with AFS lately, in that I can create a "new" file and
save it, and do an ls and it is "NOT OWNED BY ME".

We have been seeing this frequently lately - where we do not own our own
files in our AFS directories -

and the new "owner" has not accessed or altered the files or permissions in
any way.

thanks,
