We do non-interactive backups. It worked on AFS 3.4a and now 3.5
We use the "backup" suite of commands, and use the non interactive
butc options. We use it with a tape jukebox to do a full backup
of one partition and incremental backups of the others every night.
We only need to change tapes once a week. I could send more details
to anyone who is interested.

] I'm looking for a way to back up our AFS space. I want to:
]
]   1) back up the data and preserve the AFS structures (volumes) and ACLs;
]   2) have the backups run non-interactive;
] 3) have the ability to do weekly full backups AND daily incremental
] backups (e.g.., tonight's back up process should back up only the
] data that has changed since the last full backup).
]
] "vos dump" doesn't allow for incremental backups.
]
] "vos backup" doesn't do non-interactive dumps easily, and if you dump
] to a file instead of a tape, it can only dump a max of 2 Gb of data.
]
] I'm curious what people have done to make "vos backup" easier to use
] non-interactively. And also, what other backup solutions for AFS
] (besides "vos dump" and "vos backup") are people using that meet the
] objectives I listed?
