Well, like I said, vice cache is like swap space, you can have too much as
easily as too little :-). The biggest problem we've found with the huge cache
is not performance problems (that Alpha kicks butts & takes names) but every
six months or so the cache gets completely corrupted & crashes or wedges the
machine. Every 2 to 3 of these requires a complete cache rebuild.
That said, we're using the default block size. I never thought before to
change this! I think I will look more into it, it may enable us to use a
smaller cache & have less frequent problems.
