All Encina classes are current to Encina version 2.0
All DCE and DFS classes are current to OSF DCE version 1.1.

AFS System Administration
This session prepares administrators to plan, configure, manage and
recover the AFS distributed file system. Learn the set of background
terms, skills and concepts needed to be an effective, proactive AFS
administrator. Lecture only.

CICS Implementation Workshop
Learn to install and tailor CICS/6000 for use in local application
processing.  Class includes discussion and tailoring of CICS/6000
prerequisite products and components. This integrated lecture/lab is
presented by IBM Corporation.

Client/Server Overview Tutorial
This tutorial addresses the benefits and challenges of moving to a
client/server environment, including basic architectural design and
high-level administrative issues. This lecture is presented by
Instruction Set.

DCE Architecture & Functionality
A technical overview of the component services of OSF DCE. Key topics
include an architectural overview of DCE, descriptions of each DCE
service and how all of the services work together to provide DCE
functionality in a distributed environment. This lecture is presented
by Intellisoft.

DCE Programming I
Learn the basic concepts behind the components of DCE and gain coding
experience with applications that use them. Sufficient prerequisite
for Encina Programming. Integrated lecture/lab.

DCE Programming II
The concepts behind the components of DCE are revisited in more
technical detail in this course. This training is intended for
students who will be coding DCE-based services. Integrated
lecture/lab.

DCE Secure Core System Administration
Learn the functionality of each DCE Secure Core component and the
interactions among these components. This class also addresses system
administrator tasks such as backup and restore, cell reconfiguration,
and security. Lecture only.

DFS System Administration
Explore the functionality of DFS and the different components that
comprise it. Learn important background information and system
administration tasks, such as fileset administration, client/server
machine administration, backup and restore and DFS account
administration. Lecture only.

DFS System Administration for AFS Administrators
Fast-paced, one-day version of above content. For experienced AFS
administrators only. Lecture only.

Encina Monitor System Administration
Acquire a working knowledge of basic configuration and administration
issues for the Encina Monitor. Lecture only.

Enterprise Security in a DCE Environment
Security is a major reason why corporations consider deploying
DCE. This course describes the security features now available in DCE
and how to deploy them. It also reviews the security enhancements in
Release 1.1.  This lecture is presented by Intellisoft.

HP DCE System Administration
Hewlett-Packard's DCE 1.4 release includes the OSF DCE 1.1 feature
set as well a number of other HP value-added features. This one day
seminar describes several HP value-added system administration
features. This lecture is presented by Hewlett-Packard.

HP Object-Oriented DCE (OODCE) Application Programming
Learn techniques for achieving DCE functionality within an
object-oriented C++ framework. Understand how server, manager, and
client class objects provide a high degree of abstraction to simplify
DCE development.  This integrated lecture/lab is presented by
Hewlett-Packard.

Object-Oriented Architecture with Encina
This seminar introduces basic, object-oriented programming concepts
and applies them to Encina++ development. Transarc's suggested
strategy for moving from a current Encina environment to Encina++ is
also described. Lecture only.

Programming with Encina Monitor
Build the foundation for writing transactional, client/server
applications using Encina products. Labs and activities reinforce the
technology needed to develop Encina Monitor application
programs. Integrated lecture/lab.

Programming with Encina PPC Services
Learn the components, functionality, and interaction of the Encina PPC
Services products. Differences between client/server and peer-to-peer
programming models are discussed. Lecture only.

Programming with Encina RQS
An overview of the data structures and functions provided by RQS,
followed by a discussion of appropriate uses for RQS. The class also
covers functions for data manipulation and use of queues and queue
sets along with the elements that populate them. Integrated
lecture/lab.

Transarc Corporation reserves the right to cancel any scheduled events
or activities without notice. In the event of a cancellation by
Transarc of an event or activity, registrants will receive a full
refund. Registrants who cancel reservations for Decorum events or
activities before January 31, 1996 will be refunded 50% of their
fees. No refunds are available for cancellations received after
