Mark your calendar for Decorum '97: Innovation * Cooperation * Communication

Make plans now to attend Transarc's Decorum '97 Conference on March
3-5, 1997. It will take place in Long Beach, CA at the Hyatt Regency
and Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.

One of the year's premier client/server computing events, Decorum '97
gives attendees a chance to share their DCE, DFS and Encina
experiences with fellow end-users and industry vendors.

Conference highlights include the opening night Welcoming Reception
and a variety of user presentations and vendor displays.

Spotlight on AFS and extra training sessions

New to this year's conference: a day devoted to AFS (March 6). Plus,
there will be two sets of training sessions -- one before and one after
the Conference (February 27-March 2; March 6-10).

Decorum '97 participants can witness demos of the newest features
available from Transarc and other major DCE vendors.

In addition, the Conference sessions will address many of the
industry's hottest issues, including:

* integration of third-party products;
* World Wide Web use; and
* object integration.

And as a special treat, cartoonist Scott Adams, who creates the popular
Dilbert comic strip, will be the Welcoming Reception speaker.

               Long Beach fun and festivities

But the three-day conference is hardly all work and no play.
Participants will have plenty of time to explore the bay area
surrounding the Hyatt and Convention Center.

Adjacent to the Shoreline Village and Marina, the hotel offers resort
living in a spectacular harbor setting. You'll also have easy access
to the area's many attractions. Tour the Queen Mary -- the world's
largest luxury liner. Shop and dine at renowned Pine Avenue. Go
site-seeing at Catalina Island. Explore movie magic at Universal
Studios. Or just relax on some of California's most beautiful beaches.

Decorum '97 is one event you won't want to miss. Watch your mail for
additional information on how you can attend!

Meet Dilbert creator Scott Adams: Decorum '97 speaker

The featured speaker at the Decorum '97 Welcoming Reception will be
Scott Adams, cartoonist and creator of Dilbert, the syndicated
comic strip that pokes fun at the white collar workplace of the '90s.

Featuring a socially challenged engineer and Dogbert -- his sarcastic
dog -- Dilbert is recognized as the most downloaded, e-mailed,
photocopied comic strip in the world.

Syndicated in 1989 and first published on the Internet in 1993, the
Dilbert Zone is visited by 55,000 people each day, and downloaded more
than 35,000 times each month.

Adams' unique brand of humor appeals to a wide range of readers. Some
people attribute the comic strip's success to Adams' ability to convey
the silliness often encountered in the corporate world.

Born in Windham, NY, Adams earned a bachelor's degree in economics
from Hartwick College in New York, and received his MBA from the
University of California at Berkeley. He has worked in the technology
and finance industries, and has been a bank teller, computer
programmer, financial analyst, product manager and commercial
lender. Scott is also a certified hypnotist.

As a former applications engineer at Pacific Bell, Adams developed the
Dilbert character from his own experience with technology, engineers,
bureaucracy and the general absurdities of business life.
