Derek- I'm the product support rep who's been working with the OSF. As Chris mentioned, whenever the -verbose switch is used on the afsd command line, the cache builds, afs mounts and the client works fine. Without the -verbose switch, however, they also see the "panic:initcachefile open." I've tried under many different scenerios to duplicate this problem with no luck. I do however have a question. What type of disk are you using for the cache? Kathy
