By "node", do you mean separate sites, connected by long-haul leased
lines?  If so, I forsee big problems when the network loses.  Any site
isolated from other sites will lose access to the prdb and vldb, and
nobody at that site will be able to use the cell until the external
net comes back up.  This is the case now, of course, but local
(campus) networks tend to be more reliable than national networks.
Unfortunately, AFS has no mechanism for cloning a volume from one cell
to another.
