As a faculty member at the University of Texas, I teach both university and
industry courses on distributed systems. I regularly use AFS as a case
study of a distributed file system.
I was wondering if someone could help me find out about the enhancements
that were made to AFS to produce DCE's DFS. I am particularly interested
in how replication of read/write files is supported and in the new consistency
mechanisms that use tokens.
I realize papers don't yet exist on DFS, so any non-proprietary scraps of
documentation you could share with me would be most appreciated.
