I tested this on HP, Sun and Ultrix and it works fine.
However, when trying things like that I restarted
fileserver & ptserver, otherwise I saw the same effect as you.
This can probably be explained in terms of cached protection information
which has to be refreshed and which usually requires a user to re-klog
in order to activate any changes in protection group membership.
If somebody has a better explanation or a less drastic method, I'd
obviously be very interested!
