We're having some serious cache consistancy problems. Is anyone else? All
the machines in question are Risc System /6000's, of various sizes and
flavors. It seems to happen with AIX 3.1 and AIX 3.2.

We first noticed the problem on AFS 3.1b; we were able to generate a test
case, and Transarc sent a fix that eliminated that particular bug.
However, we're still seeing a similar problem. As far as we can tell, it
occurs on both AFS 3.1b and on AFS 3.2, both with and without this patch.
In otherwords, we don't know what the common thread is ... If anything,
it's more frequent with AFS 3.2 than with AFS 3.1b.

The problem manifests as some clients not seeing more recent versions of
files. (File or directory is changed on client a, client b never sees the
change - unless an explicit fs flush is done.)

Has anyone seen anything that sounds similar? Did you find out what the
problem was? Any hints on how we might narrow it down?
