hello all, i am running AFS on an IBM RS-6000 model 220 with AIX v. 3.2.3 and AFS v 3.2. This morning i had some wierdness which caused me to re-boot the machine (couldn't write to /tmp or /var/tmp, despite df telling me they weren't full. you'd be surprised at the number of things which write to /tmp and /var/tmp :-) Note that the 220 is an AFS server. When the machine came up AFS appears ok to other machines (that is if i try to access my AFS directory from a sun or an hp or ... everything is ok) but when i try to access my afs directory from the server itself i get "/usr2/fridy/afs: Connection timed out" If i go to a disk area served by one of the other servers everything is ok. I need to know what is going on here. I haven't taken any action because i am confused about what to do. I would also like to avoid doing a bos shutdown on my server, because i may have users running long jobs (hopefully no-one was running anything major this morning :-( ). any help or advice would be gratefully accepted. my normal AFS system admin guy is sick today, so i'm kind of on my own. joe fridy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
