Ok - I give up - why would anyone consider this (the mere
presence of the IP addr in the ptserver giving authuser) a
feature?  It sure seems like a bug (and a _huge_ hole) to me.
The way I'd always ass-u-med it worked was that I had to _do_
something with the PT entry before things happened.  As it is, I
certainly can't see the utility, and, in fact, I'm now relieved
that I never got around to putting the machines in.
