it would be nice if ... CellServDB were a distributed database

It would be nice if if it were unnecessary to keep a local CellServDB
file up to date all the time...

... so I'd like to suggest eventually implementing some sort of
distributed database similar to DNS or NIS.

(the error messages "Lost contact with volume location server ..."  had
me confused:  I never had contact with the cell in the first place
because my CellServDB file was incorrect.)
